Matrix AI is a company that has been built on the back of over 30 years combined Inspection knowledge and practical application in the field of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).

Our company objective is to bring to you highly experienced inspection personnel combined with the most advanced technology available to safely and efficiently deliver our projects, ultimately reducing cost and downtime. With our our fleet of UAV’s (drones) we can be deployed wherever access through more traditional methods is deemed to be too dangerous, difficult or, cost prohibitive. Furthermore, our experience in Industrial Rope Access allows us to offer follow up services, providing you with a single solution to your project.

Our team are well experienced and well trained. To support our operation we have an in-house team of skilled personnel with level 2 and level 3 ISO 9712 certification in disciplines such as, Phased Array, ToFD, Radiography, MPI/DPI, Eddy Current, PEC and more. This gives us the advantage over the competitors and makes us very efficient as we rarely need to rely on external sources. We are all IRATA trained with a company appointed IRATA Level 3 who has over 9 years experience at this level and 16 years in total.

If required, we can also support clients with follow-on inspections or provide consultancy on NDT related subjects, in particular with the advanced NDT applications such as:

  • Phased Array corrosion mapping
  • Phased Array weld inspection
  • ToFD (Time of Flight Diffraction)
  • Pulsed eddy current (PEC)

We can also support new and existing projects with procedure and technique writing along with workpack development/support.

Our Inspection methods and practices are aligned to ensure we carry out a thorough inspection that gives the client a cost effective solution delivered on time and in a professional manner.

We can work with your engineers to come up with solutions and fixes, and in some cases carry out the remedial work or, support the client and vendors with this.

All of our technicians are trained to a recognised standard in inspection and rope access and are competent in the disciplines and the equipment they are expected to use. We also extend the competency to the asset they are going to inspect or survey, ensuring that they fully understand every aspect of the project before setting out.

• Can you live stream your data from the UAV operation?

Yes, quite easily, so long as there is WIFI or 4G connectivity we can live stream to anywhere that has an internet connection through our secure web portal.

• Which inspection method would you select for a wind turbine blade showing signs of bulging or deformation?

Its important to gather as much information as you can before making a final decision on the appropriate inspection technique, each have there advantages and limitations, but phased array ultrasonic may be an option for this type of anomaly. More information would be required before making an informed decision

• How long can your UAV stay in the air for?

It depends on a few factors, but in good weather and with a standard payload you can expect around 25 to 30min of endurance

• What is the weight of the drone with full payload?

It depends on which drone we select for the work scope. However our most commonly used inspection drone weighs 6.7kg with full payload
